Tips on Using Drill bushings Correctly
If you're the kind who likes to build things in the basement of garage, it's important that you have all the necessary tools and the knowledge to use to us them. Some of the most useful tools is a drill bushing. Drill bushings are used as a guide for drilling holes in whatever you are working on.
different types of drill bushings
Drill bushings are divided into two kinds, which are:
- Press fit Bushings
With this type of bushing, you may or may not have to use a liner. Typically, they are installed permanently into a jig and can be used with different types of liners that can be easily changed and replaced. Press-fit drill bushings are usually used for holes that are so tight that a drill bushing with liner would be impractical to use.
- Renewable Drill bushings
This type is the one usually used together with liner bushings. Since renewable bushings are used for long-term projects and aren't replaced until they're worn out, they're a lot more potent than press-fit ones. There are two types of renewable drill bushings. These are the fixed and slip renewable bushings.
How to use drill bushings properly
So that you can maximize the advantage that drill bushings confer in making holes, you should determine first what hole or holes you are planning to make. Once this is determined, you should then follow this guide to install drill bushings properly for you to use.
First, use your drilling tool in order to make a hole big enough for the jig plate to fit into. The jig plate will serve as the platform that will support the drill bushings. Make sure that the hole you're going to make should only be slightly wider than the drill bushings' diameter. This way, you'll spare yourself from the hassle of having to push the bushing into place.
Then after drilling the holes needed, position your drill bushings on top of the holes and insert it forward, as far into the hole as you can. Try pushing with your hands first. After pushing it far enough, use a hammer or a rubber mallet to push it further forward into place. Check if the bushings fit snugly into the jig plate to use them properly.
When everything is in place, then you can then proceed with whatever drilling job or building project you have in mind. Remember that whenever a drilling job needs to be done, always position the plate to the specific area where a hole needs to be made.
Things to Remember
Safety should always be a top priority, especially when you're handling potentially dangerous equipment like drills. Secure the drill bushing and jig plates tightly together. Other than creating a safe working environment, this safety measure will also help you finish your job or project efficiently.

A Guide to Installing House Shutters
If you have some carpentry experience and know how to use a level you may be able to install your own house shutters. If you would rather have someone else do the job, you can pay a professional to install your new shutters for you. However, installing house shutters is relatively easy and can be accomplished by most do-it-yourselfers.
Do not be anxious by the prospect of installing your new house shutters. If your neighbors can do this simple job, so can you. You only need to understand some basic concepts. There are two recommended ways to install your shutters. You can pick an inside mount or an outside mount. It is preferred to install an inside mount that can be completed right from your open window.
Inside mount installation
For an inside mount installation, the shutter is connected flush with the inside of the window casing on the window jamb. This is ordinarily a better method of installation and is much preferred by professionals as it is less complicated and needs no framing strips.
First, make sure the window jamb is solid. Then, you need to attach the shutter hardware with screws. To do this, drill a hole through the jamb at the correct spots so that the hardware can be attached into the window jamb. The jamb needs to be solid so that the screws will be secure.
Once you have attached the hardware, you have to see if the shutters align properly with the window. You might use a level to insure that they are lined up. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions as each type of inside mounted shutter is attached differently. If you know how to use an electric drill, you will be able to effortlessly complete an inside mount for your shutters.
Outside mount installation
Understandably, an outside mount mounts on the outside of the window, most often into the trim, or even the wall. If you are using an outside mount when using inside shutters, please don’t screw the hardware into the wall panel unless it is anchored for the reason that the unit will just come out of the wall. Some people prefer an outside mount which allows the shutters to be a little "off" in terms of the measurements, unlike with an inside mount. Of course this means that the outside mount does not look as neat as the inside mount.
Remember to use your level when installing house shutters so you can be certain that the shutters are hung straight. Your eyes might be fooled, but a level will not. You will need an electric drill, a way to mount the screwdriver heads, as well as toggles if you are installing on a wall panel without a stud.
Do not be hesitant to install your house shutters yourself. This is not a difficult job and after you have installed one unit, the rest will be easy to do. As long as you have the proper tools, which are a screwdriver, drill, toggle mounts (if installing into drywall) and a level, you can complete this job easily and without much hassle.
Ok,My drill battery died,Ebay sells a,"Battery Fixing Guide"what is in that Guide?and how do i fix my battery?
nicad batteries can develop shorts, and it is possable to fix them. a nicad cell is 1.2 volts and about the size of a C cell battery, they are arranged so they add up to make your battery size 12 v, 18v, and so on. with the cost of rechargeable batteries it might be worth it, I repair mine when needed.
What you do is use a larger battery to burn the short out of your nicad cell but it MUST BE DONE CORRECTLY or you will cause the nicad to explode and this WILL cause damage to the battery and YOU.
