mallet finger surgery?
hi!!! i broke my pinky (little finger) and they did what is called a "mallet" surgery.. i have two metal pieces screwed into my bone so my pinky can properly heal... the doctor wrapped it up in gauze and told me to not get it wet... i took augmentin, an antibiotic for the time he told me to.. the only problem is , i took a shower and i completely soaked my finger.
what should i do? the orthopedic clinic isnt opened today!! i can do it myself is someone can guide me.. the doctor first put some WET GAUZE ON MY FINGER and then wrapped it with dry gauze... what was the wet gauze wet with?? peroxide? rubbing alcohol? please help me out here!! i don't want it to get infected and i will watch out next time in the shower!! 
without seeing It I would have a hard time giving you advice on what to do. What I would recommend though Is going to the urgent care or the ER to have It properly looked at. Infection Is always a concern.
