Source Model

Using Open Source for Program Development

Open source can be a project where the goal is to have a free software than replaces a paid software or does something that has never been done before. Open software does not have to be free software. It can just be a development model. Whether the goals are for profit, replacement of software, or a new function, the open source model offers the most advantages to development.

Look at how software is traditionally developed. A company or group of people will find paid programmers to make the software. They will oversee the programmers directing them as to what they want. Eventually the software is created. Generally this software is either sold or used for internal use.

The open model offers a wide range of advantages.

First, instead of having a limited number of programmers there can be thousands of programmers. When there is a thousands of lines of code, a limited number of people might not find the bugs or problems. When there are thousands of eyeballs on that code from a variety of backgrounds, it's more likely that mistakes will be found. When these mistakes are fixed, typically there is better performance and more security for you when using these applications.

Another advantage is that with more people, there will be more perspectives. If the group can make changes, they can come up with better ideas than intended. Pain programmers are paid to do what they are told. Open source programmers do what they feel is best and this can end up being more innovative. There are a wide variety of very popular scripts and applications that are open source that have brought the most innovative ideas.

In open source the programmers are volunteers. There are thousands of programmers who do it because they are passionate about the project. Passion typically gets better results than doing something because you have to do it for a paycheck.

The two models of software development are paying programmers to write software and the open source model. Open source projects offer distinct advantages that paid programmers can't compete with.

Video Promotion Is A Great Source Of Targeted Web Traffic

Did you know the human heart of hearts (the mind) thinks in pictures?  Try it yourself if you don't believe me, think of the phrase now for example targeted web traffic, what do you think of?

Maybe a picture of the last web site you visited with an article on attracting visitors, or perhaps you see a picture of your empty bank account that you know will only get filled once you receive a stream of visitors.

The point is you do not think of a word or phrase as a word/phrase but actually you see an image of your interpretation of that word or phrase in your head.

In many respects the human mind is like a dvd player than can play movies on demand.

Doesn't it then make sense to produce content that will press your visitors buttons?  Pictures and better still videos do just that.

A picture, or a video is generally the 1st thing a human eye will gravitate towards when opening a page on the internet, and even more so if the image is of a human face.  Try it yourself.  Open a page on the internet containing text and a picture or a video and "watch" where you look yourself.

Entire sites have popped up,many hundreds of them in fact that are dedicated to sharing images and videos and they are some of the most web traffic of any websites on the internet.  Why?  People absolutely like watching videos and looking at pictures.

Isn't it time you started making a major focus on video for your websites?

Now any video you produce should offer very relevant and useful information to the viewer, and should be targeted to their needs.  If you just "self promote", then you are likely to be disappointed with the results.  Remember people love watching Channel WIIFM (What's In It For Me) !

A video can be an incredibly powerful testimonial because it can give the visitor the "proof" that the product works, as well as demonstrating potentially useful information relating to the product.

Just take a look at TV advertisements if you are ever looking for ideas on video concepts.  With the high cost of advertising on TV, you can bet that the concepts you see in an ad are tested and proven winners (guaranteed to "convert" as many of their targeted watchers as possible).

For example, many TV advertisements cover similar themes listed below.

1.  Identify the problem in the mind of the viewer.

2. "Offer" a fix to their problem.

3. Introduce some other people who endorse the product (testimonials).

4. Introduce special price.

5. Introduce scarcity (can only buy for a limited time, etc).

6. Introduce a few bonus items (2 for the price of 1, order in next 30 minutes to get a fantastic bonus, etc).

It should be no surprise if you look at the list above to come to the conclusion that a lot of internet marketing launches follow the EXACT same model.  I am hoping that if you now realize this, it may get you to spend a little more time researching the product before "buying the One Time Offer".  Because you know this information you can not get "sucked in" to the buying process.

I would suggest that if you are trying to "sell" in your video that you cover a similar theme using the AIDA formula.  AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, Action.

So the first part of the video should "excite" your prospect just by seeing it, so a or a snappy picture or something to get to the heart of the problem immediately is a great start.

Once you have their initial Attention you have to convert this into genuine Interest.  How is your service going to help out your prospect?  Will it enhance their life?  Remember prospects buy on Benefits (what it's going to do for them) and not Features, so target Benefits here.

Ok, Attention and Benefits are resolved, it's time to get them to want your offerings.. Badly!  This is Desire, Make the offer irresistible.  Perhaps some cool extra bonuses, you really want to make it a "no brainer" for them to purchase.  An iron clad money back warranty is also good here.

Finally, the last but by no means least step is Action.  You can build up Attention, Interest, and Desire, but your clickbank account balance is not going to increase until you get them to take Action.

Actually ask your prospect to buy, or leave their email, or visit the website, or anything you are trying to get them to do.  Be very specific and tell them exactly what you want them to do.  This step can be a huge stumbling block, so make sure you not forget to add this.

Be sure that your viral video marketing targets the benefits your prospect will receive.  Just make the video from a prospects point of view and address the problems, interests, desires, and of course the solution and you will be well on your way to get a great response from your video.

How would you build an alternate energy source model using household item?

I need to find an alternate energy source to operate our transportation systems, homes, factories, or businesses. Which one would you chose? (solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy, geothermal energy, or nuclear energy?)

Geothermal doesn't have the potential for disaster like nuclear power does, and it doesn't make the hazardous waste either. Geothermal is the most stable supplier other than nuclear. All of the others are affected by the weather. Geothermal can be used to generate electricity as well as a heat source, which would save power for other uses.

Learn Alternate Memories to Replace Problem Memories (Psychcentral)

Emerging research suggests a method to prevent relapse to an old harmful
behavior is to match a new behavior to the originating stimulus. Researchers
base the new approach on the fact that behavior associated with addictions,
phobias, and even post-traumatic stress disorder are difficult to treat. And
the unwanted behaviors can be painful and harmful problems. [...]
